CHICAGO - Hand In Hand Films' 1971 campy porn classic The American Adventures of Surelick Holmes was presented for theatrical screenings but never was released on video for the home market. Now, more than 30 years after it was shown in gay movie houses, director Ralph Eli's genuinely one-of-a-kind porn film is available on DVD from Bijou Video. Switching from high camp to nasty cum shots to bad and funny acting, the parody of the epitome of detectives, Sherlock Holmes, is a must-see for porn aficionados if for no other reason than the period clothing in the sex scenes - and for the way people in regular settings just drop to their knees and start sucking cock for no apparent reason.
Tall and lean David Chandler plays Surelick with a strange sexual appeal that carries the film. As Dr. Watson, Frank Massey demonstrates that the two characters shared more than a set of rooms at 221B Baker Street by doing his fair share of cock-sucking throughout the film.
The pair is called to America to consult on a case with Surelick's detective friend, Charles Head (portrayed by Zebedy Colt). While discussing the case, Head proceeds to suck off Surelick and then gets fucked by him as well. The ensuing investigation includes plenty of sexual activity that progresses from cock-sucking to pissing through sadomasochism and a bathroom orgy and ends with a little transvestite sex by none other than the evil Dr. Maryorty (played by Barry Warfel).

Bijou Video had the original film prints restored in order to create a digital master for the new DVD edition. New artwork for the packaging and label was created with a nod to the classic Sherlock Holmes films.
