TORONTO - Video-on-demand enabler Sureflix Digital Distribution and Spritzz have partnered to launch Spritzz Cinema, a customized digital home for titles produced by the Berlin-based gay adult studio.
The new website will allow consumers to rent streaming movies and scenes from Spritzz productions on a pay-per-view basis. It also will provide access to content produced by other studios.
"German legislation makes it very hard for producers of adult content to publish their work on the Internet," Spritzz owner and executive director Torsten Falk said. "For years I had no way of taking advantage of the Web to promote my movies. With our great new VOD theater, operated by Sureflix, we'll be able at last to leverage current and future Web technologies and offer online the same high-quality content that our fans have come to expect from us."
Spritzz and Sureflix in early 2008 signed an exclusive partnership agreement that allowed Sureflix to offer Spritzz titles in its Maleflixxx theater network. The launch of Spritzz Cinema adds another facet to that arrangement under the Sureflix Studio Development Program, the goal of which is to maximize revenue for studio partners by combining strategic content releases with high-profile marketing.
"The Sureflix team works extremely hard to develop unique release strategies for our studio partners, and Spritzz recognizes the value of this approach," Sureflix president Eric Johnson said. "Spritzz not only understands the importance of showcasing their own content, but also the content of other top studios."
