SAN FRANCISCO - NakedSword has named Steve Cruz its NakedSwordsMan for 2009. The award is presented annually to a gay performer who, in the minds of fans, represents the very best of the electric, sex-hungry performances in the NakedSword video-on-demand theaters.
Cruz, a furry power bottom and Falcon Studios exclusive, appears in dozens of titles on the NakedSword network and has won numerous awards in the past two years. In 2008, he received Raging Stallion's Man of the Year nod, and his passionate performance in Channel 1 Releasing's Evolution earned a Best Group Scene GAYVN Award.
"Fans love Steve Cruz because Steve Cruz loves his fans," a NakedSword spokesman said. "He recently lent his visible star power to a safe-sex campaign called How I Roll (HowIRoll.org), which promotes sexual health awareness.
"In forming this partnership with Steve Cruz, NakedSword is proud to affirm its long-time commitment to safer sex. In one scorching scene after another, Cruz has proved that safe sex is as hot as it gets, and we look forward to working with Steve to expand on his important public health initiatives in the coming year."
Cruz and collaborator Leif Gobo recently began directing videos for Falcon's Mustang line, starting with Blue Movie. The duo has since wrapped two other Mustang titles, XXX and Red Light; Blue Movie will premiere on NakedSword later this month.
"Steve Cruz is a triple threat," said NakedSword chief executive officer Tim Valenti. "He is a passionate performer, an influential health advocate and a talented director. His outreach campaign makes us proud, his performances make us weak in the knees and his new titles for Mustang are among the best videos being released right now."
Cruz's first duty as NakedSwordsMan will be to appear at the CyberSocket Awards on Feb. 9 in Los Angeles, where he will join NakedSword's Tim & Roma on the red carpet as a special guest correspondent.
