You'd think that after a year in which powerhouse porn performer Steve Cruz A) started a safe-sex campaign; B) wrote a porn script; C) toured with ManHunt; D) sold some underwear; and E) came out for Obama, he might want to take a rest, right? Not on your bladder!
Cruz started shooting his directorial debut, Blue Movie, in Los Angeles this past weekend, and his co-stars were awash in excitement. Steve based the film on porn's first golden age in the late '70s and early '80s. With a nod to the retro theme, Steve's first scene - starring Dillon Buck, Zak Spears and newcomer Adam Herst - took place in a wood-panelled den with latchhook pillows and a shag rug. Great for burns, not so great for watersports.
Cruz stacked the deck in his favor on this first venture: Famed New York-based fashion photographer Joe Oppedisano is shooting boxcovers and stills along with Greg Lenzman, and Leif Gobo is co-directing. Gobo, Cruz and Oppedisano met on the set of Mustang's Limits, which Gobo also directed, Oppedisano shot images for and Cruz performed in.
Mustang Studios will be releasing Blue Movie in December of 2008. Steve Cruz remains a Raging Stallion exclusive, although he plans on taking a hiatus from performing for the immediate future. In addition to Buck, Spears and Herst, Blue Movie also stars Nick Piston, CJ Madison, Nick Moretti, Scott Campbell and Colton Steele.
