SAN DIEGO, Calif.—A college student who became the focus of an internet uproar after his exhibitionistic video appeared on XTube has parlayed infamy into a career in gay porn.
Known only as “Speedo Student,” the young man’s self-produced public masturbation video gained notoriety after University of Hawaii officials threatened disciplinary action because the clip was filmed on the UH campus. Netizen backlash was swift and vociferous, with the story gaining traction not only in gay adult forums but also on mainstream websites like Queerty.com and The Huffington Post.
That’s when Dirty Bird Pictures founder, producer and director Dink Flamingo stepped in. Flamingo contacted Speedo Student via his blog and established a dialogue that eventually led to a contract under which the gay adult studio will produce DVDs of the curly headed blonde cutie’s antics.
Production of the first project began during the first week in April.

I can’t wait to see what we can come up with together, as well as to finally satisfy those of my viewers who have wanted to see me in more than just solo scenes. There are definitely going to be some amazing productions on the way.”
The studio plans to build a website to showcase Speedo Student’s talents in several arenas, including blogging, as well as to market the signature line of “show and tell” DVDs. Flamingo said he particularly enjoys supporting and producing young performers and directors. Among Dirty Bird’s success stories is Brent Corrigan’s Prodigy Pictures, which Flamingo takes credit for helping to reignite after the scandal surrounding Corrigan’s underage performances broke. Corrigan subsequently won several awards for his Prodigy work under the Dirty Bird umbrella.
