Director Jett Blakk had a rip-roaring birthday party in July, and it was a delight to walk in and see Young Frankenstein playing on his gigantic outdoor screen above the pool. Another delight: Bubble-butted Damon Phoenix stripping naked to hop into the hot tub. That was an invitation for others to strip down and join in too, but some of us were having too much fun schmoozing with other directors and stars such as Jason Hawke (the new JustUsBoys.com spokesmodel), Christian Owen, Andrew Addams, Ty Hudson, and many others. Jefferson, the design and marketing guy at Channel 1 Releasing, was there, as well as Jeremy Spencer of Adonis, and directors Thor Stephans, Ross Cannon, and Tina Tyler.
Tina Tyler told me about seven — seven! — different video lines she's shooting these days. She says she's getting tired of agents sending her straight guys for her gay lines, saying, "They keep looking at my rack while they're fucking, and the guy underneath is going, 'What am I doing here?' I think the agents do it to impress me, but I'm not."
Tyler's Penile Intuition is just out from Black Viking, and she's excited about one of its stars, Kris Anthony. "He started out as huge fan of the industry, and he still gets star struck by people he meets. I've shot him twice now and he's extraordinary both times. When you can translate to camera that you do not want to be anywhere else except with your mouth on a dick, that's good. He's got personality and a totally slutty attitude and his dick never goes down. He bottomed for me for the first time last scene, and it was rocking, rocking hot. I think he absolutely has the potential to be a new gay superstar if he wants it enough."
It's nice to hear that Nick Capra is back on his feet after taking himself out of the biz and going into rehab for half a year. The long-dicked star said that his rehab counselors blame his porn career, but as he tells it, "Porn is never a reason I got high." Titan's Keith Webb says that Bruce Cam is going to shoot his big outdoor extravaganza for the end of the year on full HD video. Webb said the company spent half a million dollars on cameras, lenses, and editing equipment, but "it's an investment in the future, and we have always been on the cutting edge of new technologies. We were the first major studio to dominate the DVD world and we will be the major studio to dominate the HD world."
Porn stud Dino Phillips is back and cute as ever. For several years he's worked at a law office with Kurt Young, and now he says, "I decided to go back to my roots and join the porn world again." Dino is processing orders for 1 Distribution and plans to direct again. He said he let Dexx Jones take over his Great Dane Productions photos from Dino's three films. What's most interesting are all of the great historic photos Dino has shot over the years, including the porn softball games, his time with Johnny Rey, Chip Daniels parties, the Showboys gigs, Halloween in West Hollywood, strip shows, and more. "It's really the Golden Age of porn and lots of pix of porn stars hanging out in their natural habitat," says Dino. "I think people would like to see that. I brought my camera to every event." Those events go back more than a decade, and the photo coverage will soon join the production photos on GreatDaneProd.com. Dino plans to launch the new additions with a big party!
Mark Reed at Jet Set tells me he's been up late working on some projects he's really excited about. Jet Set's new movie, Doggie Style, has real dogs in it, and Mark says the guys who were having sex in front of the camera seemed to be put at ease with the dogs there. Mark has saved 16 American pit bull terriers in a dog rescue program he's in, and a few of them appear in the movie. Meanwhile, Jet Set's titles are being translated into four foreign languages, and he's preparing for a major release this month.
Bodybuilder Tony DaVinci, who dropped out of Blue Blake's new movie, just completed a solo in Raging Stallion's first all-solos movie. Director Chris Ward is predicting that Tony is going to be huge in the gay XXX industry. The movie won't be released till December, but for those who can't wait, Tony's performance will be available before then on Raging Stallion's RearStable.com.
