WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Adult entertainment reporter, talk-show host and publicist-cum-indie film actor and local nightclub songbird Jason Sechrest will be 28 later this month, but he's celebrating early with a party at Eleven Lounge on Sunday.
As part of the celebration, Sechrest and a group of what he called "amazing singers" will perform with a full band during the twice-monthly event, Live at Eleven. The music will range from Broadway tunes to contemporary standards and rock.
Sechrest and friends will take the stage between 7:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., and Sechrest said he will sing eight to 10 numbers during the course of the evening.
There will be no cover charge for the event, but those who desire to sit with the party group are asked to make reservations. Sechrest asked that family, friends and others not bring gifts.
Music is a fairly new addition to Sechrest's list of professional accomplishments, but he's doing well with it, he said. He now sings live at several venues in the Los Angeles area, including Eleven Lounge every other Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and gay piano bar The Other Side Fridays at 9 p.m. and alternate Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m.
In the past month he has been featured in articles appearing in Rolling Stone, GayWired and PULP.
