Southern Californians will have ten chances to catch porn journalist/personality/director Jason Sechrest onstage in The Chance Theatre's holiday production, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, according to an announcement from Sechrest's DV8 Entertainment.
Anaheim's Chance Theatre is a well-known mainstream theater company in Orange County, Calif. The Eight is a revival of last year's sell-out production. A "raunchy dark comedy," by Jeff Goode, the play "features eight monologues from Santa's dysfunctional family of reindeer, each with their own unique take on a sexual harassment case filed by one of their own against Saint Nick himself!"
Sechrest, who Unzipped Magazine calls the Oprah of Porn, joins the returning cast as Cupid, who he describes as "the big gay reindeer."
The production opens with a preview performance this Saturday, Nov. 19. The official opening is Sunday. The Nov. 20 opening gala features a post-production party with the cast. The Eight will play Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. for five weeks, closing the week before Christmas, Sunday, Dec. 18.
Sechrest's last time on stage was in the American Renegade Theatre's2003 production of Waiting for Godot in North Hollywood, Calif.
