David Forest of Forest Entertainment announced in a press release yesterday the first live appearance in four years of gay-XXX superstar Ryan Idol. Idol will appear at Cocktails With the Stars, the weekly in-person porn star event held at Micky's nightclub in West Hollywood, Calif.
The host for the evening, Forest said, "will be the king of gay gossip, syndicated columnist Billy Masters." Regular host Jason Sechrest will be in Chicago hosting the special pre-Grabby Awards Cocktails With the Stars.
Idol, who now lives in New Hampshire, agreed to the "Cocktails" engagement to cap the month-long series of live and Internet appearances by Forest's "Family of Stars." His final gay XXX film performance was in 1996's Idol in the Sky. Idol was inducted into what is now the GAYVN Hall of Fame in 1994.
Forest said Idol "has no plans for any further adult movies, but on Thursday will be announcing his plans for a return to the stage." From 1996 to 2001 Idol starred in several plays across the country, including his own production of A Scent of Rain at the Tiffany Theatre on L.A.'s Sunset Strip.
Idol will be chatting with Masters, signing autographs for his fans, and giving away many of his award-winning XXX films at Micky's Cocktails With the Stars this Thursday night, May 25, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
