NEW YORK - Rentboy.com celebrated its 10th anniversary June 27th. The company has grown exponentially in the past decade, with three offices (in New York, LA, and Madrid), the creation of Hustlaball and the International Escort Awards, and the winning of 12 awards.
Co-creator Tom Wiese reflected on how far he and partner Jeffrey Davids' site had come, saying that they initially brought together about a dozen men they knew from the clubs and streets of New York and that they now had more than 50,000 escorts around the world. The site has served more than 20,000,000 people and with 50,000 hits every day is the largest free hustler site on the 'net.
Other notable moments of the past decade include, Rentboy and HookOnline's creation of RentUniversity, which helps escorts with finances, legal issues, and health care; the creation of escort support groups in Los Angeles and New York; and being sued by Larry Flynt for using the word hustler when they were forming Hustlerball, which spawned Hustlaball.
