PHILADELPHIA - It looks like Teyon and Keyon, twin brothers who performed at popular black gay porn sites like BlackMen.net, EbonyD and Flavaworks, will be off the radar for a while. The 25-year-old twins, who are New Jersey residents Taleon and Keyontyli Goffney in real life, were jailed Feb. 19 after allegedly burglarizing a Rite Aid pharmacy. They also are suspected in as many as 40 other burglaries across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
Authorities said an alarm notified them about the Rite Aid break-in. After cutting through the roof of the building using a hand saw and an axe and taking cigarettes, condoms and about $2,000 in cash, the Goffney brothers allegedly broke into a Wings 'N More store next door before police arrived. Keyontyli Goffney was arrested at the scene; Taleon Goffney was apprehended later, according to authorities.
It was not Taleon Goffney's first brush with the law, according to Philadelphia County prosecutor Matthew Spence. In 2007 he was arrested on drug, weapons and resisting-arrest charges related to possession of a half ounce of crack cocaine and a loaded .25-caliber handgun. He faces a three-year state prison term on those charges, the prosecutor said.
In addition, he and his brother are the focus of the Rooftop Burglary Task Force, a tri-state effort led by New Jersey investigators. The group was founded after a rash of similar crimes began 18 months ago.
"Keyon made his start into porn with us back in 2002," Phillip Bleicher of Flavaworks told Rod 2.0 . "He was one of the sweetest models we had ever worked with. We last saw him at New York City Pride in June 2007, and he again was friendly and caring. It's too sad."
According to Erik Schut, editorial director of Philadelphia-based TLA Entertainment Group, the twins appeared with gay porn actor Marc Williams in the online romp "Marc and the Twins." Schut told the Philadelphia Daily News the twins have not appeared in any adult content distributed on DVD, but if they had decided to go in that direction, "they could have been huge."
"Two incredibly beautiful black men, and twins - it's unprecedented," Schut told the Daily News. "Ethnic gay models are rare."
Keyontyli Goffney also seemed to be on the verge of a promising career as a mainstream model. A graduate of the Barbizon School of Modeling, he has worked as a runway model for BOIISH and Azzure and currently is featured in a seven-page spread in CLIK, a magazine for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender African-Americans.
Online court records indicate Keyontyli Goffney may be free on a $75,000 bond. Taleon Goffney, on the other hand, remains jailed pending $150,000 bail, according to the Daily News.
