FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - PZP Productions will inaugurate a new twink series on the same day the U.S. inaugurates a new leader. Twinks Finally 18 #1: Introducing Randy Phoenix will begin shipping Jan. 20.
"I originally chose Inauguration Day as a release date because I knew it was going to be a euphoric day worldwide, full of hope," director Peter Z. Pan said. "Now after the Rick Warren betrayal, I wish I would have chosen Valentine's Day instead."
Like many gay people who supported the campaign of President-elect Barack Obama, Pan said he felt betrayed when Obama invited Warren, a controversial, charismatic Christian minister who is outspoken in his condemnation of same-sex relationships, to give the invocation during the presidential inauguration.
"Rev. Warren was a major proponent of Proposition 8 in California," Pan told GAYVN.com. "He has also compared gay marriage to pedophilia and incest. He is the Jerry Farwell of the new millennium.
"My movie was supposed to come out on Valentine's Day. However, I was so overwhelmed with joy over Obama's victory that I decided to release the movie on a day I thought would change the world. I'm disappointed that it looks like it's just going to be more of the same."
In addition to newbie Randy Phoenix, Twinks Finally 18 #1 also features well-endowed Sean Preston. Rounding out the cast are newcomer Justin Taylor plus Giovanni Summers, Steve Miller, Ethan Connor, Manny Emmanuel and Roland Haye.
A trailer for the new movie is available online.
Pan has scheduled what he called "a huge DVD release party" for the new flick Jan. 23-24 at Johnny's Bar in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Randy Phoenix is scheduled to perform both nights, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet the cast and win free DVDs and ID Lube products.
"Rumor has it some of the hot chorus boys from the national touring company of Mamma Mia! might stop by for a peek," Pan said.
Twinks Finally 18 #1: Introducing Randy Phoenix will be distributed by Marina Pacific.
