On the Set With Jet Set Men's 'Ass Cruisin' With Aaron James'

"I'm in every scene. I'm just driving around and picking up guys," says blue-eyed Aaron James about Jet Set Men's Ass Cruisin' with Aaron James, which starts shooting today in ritzy West Hollywood.

Aaron's puppy-faced co-star Jesse Santana adds, "Aaron picks me up, brings me to the house, says he has a straight friend who wants to fuck me, puts me on all fours with my ass in the air, and waits for Rod Dailey to walk in."

Producer John Tegan jokingly sums up, "It's an all-action anal road movie."

Unlikely stuff to shoot in a high-rent neighborhood? Architect Nizar Idrissi, a resident of the house, explains: "The 12,000-square-foot lot has 10-foot-high hedges and only one neighbor, a retired porn star."

Strong, "masculine" furnishings indoors and out, a yard with giant vases, and a sunstruck pool provide varied settings for sex. Crewmen as handsome as the models lay cable. Cosmetician Lynda says of her first boy-boy movie, "I haven't had to do anything unusually intimate yet, but I'm open for it."

Also around, shooting the "docusoap" Webdreams for Canada's Showcase Channel, are Galafilm's director Ziad Touma and his assistant, Matthew Shewchuk. They focus on two new Jet Set Men exclusives, Aaron (being photographed nude on a stairway by stills expert Mick Hicks) and Jesse (telling an interviewer about receiving eight nominations for this year's GAYVN Awards).

"We're proud of both the new guys," says Tegan. "What we look for are obviously good looks, and the ability to perform, but also presence and personality. When I put my marketing hat on, I call it ‘cross-generational appeal.' We saw it in Aaron's photos. He's an East Coast boy with a West Coast look. Jesse, we signed after seeing him in his prior movies, thinking ‘Gee, he looks like a quality, dependable performer,' but he also turned out to have a great deal more - real star quality! You sometimes have to handle wild temperament. But not with these two. They don't have any attitude."

Production manager Rod Barry says, "The worst problem on a set is making lighting match from shot to shot as the sun shifts. But the second worst is models who are late or don't show up. No problem with these guys. They make their flights."

Aaron's flight was from Pennsylvania, Jesse's from Dallas. "Aaron," says director Steele, "wasn't sure right at first if he wanted to do porn, and then a few months went by and he called me back and said, ‘I've changed my mind. I want to,' and I put him in On Fire!"

Jesse says, "After doing some Internet videos, I wanted to make a name for myself, so I just bugged Chi Chi La Rue till she put me in a movie. I worked for several companies, then for Jet Set Men I did Fraternity Gang Bang 2, and they signed me as an exclusive."

Jesse and his boyfriend, Guy Parker, have done scenes together. Aaron sighs of his personal life, "I think pornography kind of made me asexual. I don't worry about relationships too much. I have school to finish. I want to be a human rights lawyer."

Both boys, and other models on the set, agree that they all love working with director Steele. Aaron says, "Chris pretty much hangs back and just makes sure everything is going the way it's supposed to. He'll come in when he needs to. He's pretty mellow."

Jesse: "He really understands a model's point of view. He's been in their shoes. He knows when you need help, and how to put it into words."

Huge blond Dakota Rivers has made DVDs only with Steele, and returns whenever Steele calls him. He says, "I only started doing porn because I had an ex-boyfriend it would piss off. But I like working with a professional like Chris Steele who makes me feel easy and comfortable."
