NakedSword’s ‘I Want Your Love’ Scores Best Short Film Nod

SAN FRANCISCO—The NakedSword-produced and Travis Mathews-directed 15-minute short film version of the upcoming full-length feature I Want Your Love has been nominated as the Best Short Film of 2010 by leading online video retailer TLA. The winner will be determined by votes, and NakedSword is encouraging the film’s devoted fans to visit TLA and cast their votes before the Dec. 31 deadline. Click here for TLA’s contest page.

Debuting to critical acclaim and viewer adulation earlier this year, I Want Your Love has been screened at multiple international film festivals, including the Berlin Porn Film Festival, where it already won the Best Short runner-up.

The short film, which follows two best friends negotiating their way towards having sex for the first time, has been met with universal praise by festival audiences in Brazil, Paris, Tel Aviv, and Brussels as well. And over the summer, the San Francisco Bay Guardian gave the project Best Money Shot of Love in their annual “Best of the Bay” issue.

NakedSword and Mathews see the TLA nomination as a way to close out the year on the highest of notes. It also serves as a great lead in to a busy 2011, as filming on the full-length feature begins in March.

“We’re so honored to be included with so many great shorts in the TLA contest,” said Mathews. “There’s been such a sense of magic behind this project since the beginning, and I can’t wait to start shooting in March. We’re really proud of the cast we’ve assembled.”

The short, which can be viewed for free on NakedSword, has already been viewed more than 550,000 times.
