It’s hard to believe that the first decade of the 21st century is almost over, but at the same time it’s exciting to take a look back at the world of gay porn and see how much has changed since 2000. So I, along with 12 other well-known adult industry writers, are getting together to discuss the best of the last 10 years. We’ll be looking at the top movies, moments, trends and actors, including those who have passed on so that they are not forgotten. Also, maybe you will discover the blogs of some of the writers involved.
This A-list of adult industry journalists is an eclectic bunch, including some guys I’ve worked with on awards shows and in judging over the years. J.C. Adams of GayPornTimes.com and I go way back to the days of the Gay Erotic Video Awards, and I’ve worked with Onan the Vulgarian of XX-Factor every year when we get together to create the GAYVN Award nominations. (He drives all the way from Arizona to participate in these often knock-down drag-out sessions in LA’s San Fernando Valley.) Vincent Lambert is a friend from New York, who has a great history of interviews on his site. I’ve met Butch Harris of ManNet.com in Chicago. Mark Kliem is a great photographer and has done lovely stuff with Lavender Lounge. And Jason Sechrest of JasonCurious.com is the man about town in WeHo, doing everything (and everyone) in the adult biz. The guys at Fleshbot, The Sword and GayPornBlog are on top of everything, and perpetually cute porn pup Nick Young has joined the ranks of porn writer in addition to his many other talents, while Mark Adams has a unique view of things at Vidio View. And, of course, my partner in gossip crime and good buddy Billy Masters is on the list too, and I’m hopeful he’ll provide some levity, like Al Franken will add to the U.S. Senate.
As Onan says, “This blogging project will help to provide a cultural and erotic perspective on where we were and whence we’ve come in the past 10 years, written by the people who have been paying the most attention.”
I’ll comment on what they say, and throw in my two cents, too. But where to start?
One place is obviously by looking over the list of GAYVN Award winners. Now, that doesn’t mean that the BEST must come from that, because a lot of guys and performances get overlooked in awards, but it does help for a start.

* Underwear fetishists are loving the new Brief Encounters line that is popping out of Pantheon Productions. Matthew Rush is over there doing some scenes and big daddy bear Tim Kelly is bottoming for them for the first time on-camera. The studio’s Real Men Volume 17 edition is all about tighty whities and boxers and all kinds of underwear. * COLT Men Adam Champ and Carlo Masi are in Rome, performing at the Enigma club in early May. They’re promoting their upcoming feature, Muscleheads, which can be previewed on COLT’s site.…
* David Taylor (pictured), a 6-foot-4 blond jock from Burbank, is signed to Raging Stallion as an official model, and he’s also the spokesmodel for RealTouch — the innovative sex toy that will soon be launched by AEBN. “David Taylor is every man’s dream!” enthused RSS president Chris Ward. “He is a delightful guy and he performs very well on-camera…. Taylor will do a series of photo shoots, videos and national appearances to help launch RealTouch over the summer months. He is a former Marine and Abercrombie & Fitch model, and has appeared on shows such as General Hospital, CSI: Miami, Las Vegas and Alias as well as in movies like Bewitched and The Island.
