- Raging Stallion's Chris Ward and super photographer Kent Taylor flew down from San Francisco to personally hand me a hot-out-of-the-machine copy of To the Last Man, which is going to be more controversial than any porn movie in recent memory. Even the trailer got bumped off YouTube for the branding, hanging, throat slitting and other violence shown in the clip. And bloggers and porn fans have written lots about their concern about the mix of serious violence and sex, so the four-DVD set will have a non-violent XXX version on it for those who are squeamish....
• People may not know it, but Taylor is partnered with very hot porn stud Antonio Biaggi, who just opened an eco-friendly store in the Castro and is doing superbly. The store, and Biaggi, are going to be featured in an upcoming Sunset magazine story, and he's been doing interviews at an international level about his eco boutique, which has an entire stock of green and eco-friendly items that are recycled, repurposed, organic and sustainable. And it's affordable! Biaggi was concerned that his friends (gosh, particularly those of us in the adult industry) are eco-friendly but just can't afford the high cost of some of those items. He realized that the mark-up is unnecessarily high at some stores, and he's taking care of that at his. "I was tired of my friends relating that they wanted to shop more responsibly, but always resented the dramatically higher cost," he said. His store may keep you from making a carbon footprint on the world, but he's certainly made an impact on the world himself....
• Will Clark, the porn star/fund-raiser/porn reporter, gave me an update on what he's doing in New York. He was one of the first porn stars to have a huge Internet presence, with a website promoting his Bad Boys Pool Parties, and now he said he is starting over and is "happy to report that my blog is going well after less than two months in the blog-only format." He has several hundred readers checking in on his Will Clark's World, and his popular Porno Bingo fund-raiser in Manhattan is celebrating its fourth birthday on Jan. 28. The big anniversary party at Pieces already raised $71,000 and he said he expects to easily break $75,000 thanks to sponsorship by NEXT magazine and Manhunt. Meanwhile, Will's been dating a hunk for the past year and a half and says "it's getting pretty serious" but no wedding bells yet....
• Jet Set Men is repackaging some of their best for a Big Dicks Collectors' Edition. Of course, they know what a big dick is, thanks to their Big Dick Society best-seller, but now they've scoured their stock for the best of the biggest and came up with seven scintillating scenes that include past legends like Ken Ryker, Jason Ridge and Tag Eriksson. The penile appendages of these 10 guys together could stack up together and create a separate tall man!...
• Tiger Tyson claims Take 'Em Down 3 is his best DVD yet, getting some hot reviews and winning three Golden Rod awards. He co-stars with guys like Nubius and Phat Daddy and says "We've spent two years searching for the perfect tops and bottoms" for this title. . . .
• IN LA magazine is cutting back on its budget, slicing off some of its porn reviews and unfortunately also cutting my Mickey's Quickies column, which I've written for them since the magazine started more than a decade ago....
