Michael Lucas to Speak at Stanford

NEW YORK - Lucas Entertainment president and chief executive officer Michael Lucas will speak at Stanford University on Feb. 14. The event, billed as "An Evening with Michael Lucas," will begin at 7 p.m. at the Cubberley Auditorium on the university's Palo Alto, Calif., campus.

Organized by the Associated Students of Stanford University Speakers Bureau, the event is expected to include a lecture by Lucas, a question-and-answer session and a reception. Admission is free and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

"The ASSU Speakers Bureau is thrilled to welcome Michael Lucas to Stanford University," said T. Patrick Cordova, spokesperson for the group. "We are excited to bring together Stanford's commitment to academic excellence with Mr. Lucas' cultural and social perspective."

Lucas previously has spoken at Yale, New York University and Rutgers, about topics as diverse as the adult industry, politics, safe sex, relationships and Israel.

"I appreciate that I am not limited to speak just about pornography when invited to Stanford or other universities," Lucas said. "Porn is my main job, but there are other fields in which I became expert and feel confident and comfortable talking about."

Stanford is recognized as one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions. The university's community of scholars includes 16 Nobel laureates, four Pulitzer Prize winners and 24 MacArthur fellows.
