Man's Hand to Bring Sting Pictures to U.S.

STUDIO CITY, Calif. - Sting Pictures, the European brand name for STG Pictures Ltd., has reached an agreement with Man's Hand Films for U.S. distribution of its spanking titles.

Founded in 1985 but dormant until the mid-'90s, Sting Pictures owns a library of 13 full-length adult films, including the award-nominated Asian Incident and My Borstal Days. The latter was set in a British reformatory. Both will be among the titles Man's Hand will distribute stateside.

Although Sting's recently redesigned website offers downloads of smaller "B features" from the company's library, Sting will devote its future energies to producing high-end adult spanking films for release on DVD, according to spokesman Richard O'Shea, M.D. He also said the company's production policy focuses on historically authentic story lines with as much attention to classic detail and realistic role-play as can be achieved.

"The erotic pleasure for the viewer is watching spanking action on screen taking place in a setting just as it would have really been," O'Shea said.

The studio's next title, which O'Shea said was in production mainly to satisfy the demands of U.S. customers, is Reformatory USA. It is due for a spring 2008 release.

"Popular Sting lads such as Matt Mills, Brett and Tigger are set to appear in the next full-length feature release and will also be seen in the downloads area [of the website]," he said. "A fair number of new models are booked for shooting in 2008 with a follow-up to the highly successful Tales from St Datchets Academy entitled Joe's Diary: Return to St Datchets."

The distribution partnership with Man's Hand Films will provide U.S. customers easier access to and delivery of product on their home turf, O'Shea posited.

"Man's Hand Films is probably the longest-established spanking-genre film producer in the United States and also offers a wide range of products within the spanking fetish area," he said. "The European side of Sting Pictures Distributing will now be streamlined with new moves on distribution following the stocking by several European stores of the Sting brand - Internet access and online credit card purchasing being the main priority here."

Man's Hand Films was founded by the late John Stewart in the late 1970s. Initially the company distributed humorous, short-subject 8mm spanking "loops" by Athletic Model Guild founder Bob Mizer.

Gilbert Connelly assumed the reins at Man's Hand following Stewart's death in 1991. Under his direction, Man's Hand's products evolved into longer, more serious disciplinary productions often shot on location.

Since 1992, Man's Hand also has published Red Tales, the International Male Spanking Magazine, a quarterly publication devoted to features, fiction, original art, advice and photography.
