TORONTO - Maleflixxx has pledged to help fight AIDS on a global basis by donating to a group of AIDS-related charities $1 from each video-on-demand rental viewed on World AIDS Day.
World AIDS Day, founded in 1988, is dedicated to increasing awareness, educating the public and fighting prejudice against people living with HIV/AIDS. One of its goals is to spread the word about how to prevent HIV infection. The day occurs every year on Dec. 1.
This year marks the fourth consecutive World AIDS Day benefit undertaken by Maleflixxx. In the past, the company donated funds to a single organization. However, in an effort to extend its philanthropic reach, this year Maleflixxx will donate to several charities. CAP AIDS, TPAN and The Folsom Fund are among them.
"As members of the gay adult entertainment industry, we believe it is our responsibility to assist in the fight against this unyielding disease," said Eric Johnson, president of Maleflixxx parent company Sureflix Digital Distribution. "AIDS is something that, in some capacity, affects us all. It is that common bond we share that must drive us in the ongoing struggle to find a cure."
