SAN FRANCISCO - Everybody’s favorite drag queen, Lady Bunny, will co-host the 10th Annual GAYVN Awards Show which is slated for Saturday, February 16. She’ll be hopping on stage for the opening and closing of the Awards Show, which is being held this year at San Francisco’s Gift Center. It’s the perfect setting for Lady Bunny, who swears diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
Lady Bunny is well-known in the gay community as the founder and emcee of the annual Wigstock event. She has also released disco singles such as "Shame, Shame, Shame!" and "The Pussycat Song" and appeared in films such as Wigstock: The Movie, Peoria Babylon, and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.
Born Jon Ingle, Lady Bunny launched her career alongside Larry Tee and RuPaul as a fixture on the Atlanta, gay scene. Her drag performance style usually involves lip-synching to a karaoke compilation of popular songs over which she has recorded her own voice singing parodies of the original lyrics.
“I can hardly wait to present my newest song at the GAYVN Awards,” said Lady Bunny. “It will be so great to be back in San Francisco and see all my carrot-chomping friends who have supported me for years. It’s a great a honor to be hosting the show that recognizes gay actors, producers, and studios.”
Operated by AVN Media Network, the GAYVN Awards recognizes outstanding movies and talented individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the gay adult entertainment industry. The 2008 GAYVN Awards are sponsored by ASACP, Cybersocket, Epoch, GayHotMovies, Gloss, JustUsBoys, and Lavendar Lounge and Shane’s World, and Video Secrets.
