Hyde Park Introduces ‘Retail Stimulus Package’

PHOENIX - Hyde Park Productions has introduced what the studio calls a "retail stimulus package": Any adult retailer may request up to five copies of the studio's latest release, Twinks in Paradise, free of charge.

According to producer Doug Knight, the promotion is specially designed to target smaller retail outlets that may have been overlooked by distributors.

"The smaller adult retailers have been ignored, and that doesn't work for us," Knight said. "Our solution is simple: We are offering any adult retail outlet that wishes to participate up to five free copies of our newest release. No adult retailer will be turned away. We understand that distribution companies may not like what we are doing, but they are part of the reason we are [doing it]."

Like Knight, director Ted McIntyre sees the offer as a response to a skewed distribution system.

"For far too long, the distributors have been pushing inferior product to retailers at extremely high prices while offering high-quality production houses next to nothing for their product and limiting where it is sold," he said. "We know the current system ignores the small adult book and video stores as well as online retailers, and by offering up to five free, retail-ready copies of Twinks in Paradise to any and all adult retail outlets we are doing what we can to rectify that."

To take advantage of the free offer, retailers must call (877) 573-2135.

Founded in 2000, Hyde Park's titles have received awards and nominations from GAYVN, AEBN and others. The company's subsidiaries include BDSM and fetish specialist Dark Realm Productions and skater studio Hybrid Boys Productions.
