HustlaBall Berlin to Include First-Ever Awards Ceremony

BERLINThe seventh annual HustlaBall Berlin will begin at 8 p.m. Oct. 16 at Münze in the heart of Berlin. Always a wild party with plenty of entertainment, including gay adult performers, this year’s event will incorporate for the first time an awards ceremony to honor what organizers consider the best in European and American gay entertainment.

The HustlaBall Awards will be presented by Holger Weber of Rub Club e.V.. According to a HustlaBall spokesman, about 2,000 members of the public—including members of the adult press and other industry insiders, as well as consumers—spent more than 500 hours evaluating a field of 75 films nominated in 16 categories. Awards will be presented to the best actor, best film, best studio, best director and best cover in Europe and to the best actor, best film, best studio, best director and best cover in the U.S. In addition, worldwide awards will be presented for the best top, best bottom, best fetish film, best mainstream film, best special-interest (niche) film and best online appearance. Juried awards for best new studio and best new performer also will be presented, and the winners will be profiled in the magazine Blu.

As for the party itself, “Your ears will be set on fire by 10 top DJs on four dance floors [located on] two [levels of the building], including Micky Friedmann, Mike Kelly, Fabio White, Steven Redant, Rudy and VJs,” the spokesman said. “Your eyes will be set on fire by absolute top stars: more than 80 performers, among them Ricky Sinz, Logan McCree, Vinnie D’Angelo, Adam Killian, and the men of Flava Works, Erocreations, Cazzo, BerlinStarFilm and Spritzz.”

Monique Sinclair will serve as emcee.

Tickets for the main event are 25 euros for standard admission, or 110 euros for entry into the “super-luxurious VIP area with its own balcony and buffet.” As in previous years, 2 euros from every ticket will be donated to charity. This year’s beneficiaries are Mann-O-Meter, Maneo-Gay Assault Victim Helpline and Café PositHIV.

In addition to the main party, organizers have scheduled an opening party at Axel-Hotel the previous evening, a HustlaBall dinner on Saturday and a closing party during GMF at the Weekend Club on Sunday.
