NEW YORK - Homoactive.tv, a new video-on-demand service owned by Euro Media Partners and designed for the gay community, has launched. The site offers user interfaces in four languages - English, French, German and Dutch - and payment options for U.S. dollars, euros and British pounds sterling.
"Despite being much longer in production than we would have wished for, we are very pleased with the final product," said managing director Stephen Thompson. "Our studio-led solution to the issue of streaming is unique in the marketplace and genuinely offers studios a chance to survive and customers the choice they deserve. We do not intend to drown the site with any old rubbish we can get our hands on, but instead we shall do all we can to keep the quality high and the service and user experience exceptional."
Homoactive.tv offers exclusive pre-releases from top studios, streaming content in high-definition Flash format and pay-per-minute billing. Project manager Jason Rose said he believes the website will have an impact on the gay content-streaming scene.
"Homoactive.tv is a real challenge to the current duopoly and has been conceived from the ground up as a high-quality product," he said. "With a heavy investment in usability and some ground-breaking new features, the platform will be used increasingly for pre-release material in a dramatic departure from conventional retailing. We at Homoactive believe this is the future of connecting with consumers, in a very immediate and affordable fashion."
The website is part of the Eurocreme Cash affiliate program.
