CHICAGO - The glitterati of gay porn descended upon the Windy City over Memorial Day weekend for the Grabby Awards where the big winners were Hot House’s Justice and and Falcon’s Velvet Mafia 1-2.
Gay Chicago Magazine honored legendary director Steven Scarborough and his film Justice with five awards: Best Director, Best Video, Best Actor (Shane West), Best Duo Sex Scene (Trevor Knight and Shane Rollins), and the Maleflixxx.tv People’s Choice Award.
The Velvet Mafia 1-2 walked away with four awards: Best Screenplay (by Austin Deeds), Best Art Direction, Best Non-sexual Role (Paul Barresi), and Best Supporting Actor (Matthew Rush). Falcon also laid claim to Best DVD Extras for Dripping Wet, and their exclusives Cort Donovan and Roman Heart nabbed Best Cock (Cut) and the ID Lube Award, respectively.
Other big winners included Manifesto (Raging Stallion), which won for Best All-Sex Video, Young Men Just Want to Fuck (Jet Set) for Best Twink Video, 2nd Inning (Electro Video) for Best Comedy Video, Folsom Filth (Titan) for Best Fetish Video, The School For Lovers (Lucas Kazan Productions) for Best International Video, and Black-N-Blue (Hot House) for Best Leather Video.
Previous co-hosts Chi Chi LaRue (who was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award) and Honey West were joined by Johnny Hazzard, Matthew Rush, and Kent North. Inducted into the 2007 Wall of Fame were Paul Barresi, Blue Blake, Gino Colbert, David Forest, Max Phillips , Bruce Vilanch. Guests, presenters, Trophy Studs, and winners included Roman Ragazzi (in good spirits and seemingly unscathed after his recent scandal), Roman Heart, Blake Riley, Collin O’Neal, and Danny Roddick.
