I chatted with superstar Brad Patton while he was in New York practicing his ice skating for the first Out Games to be held at the end of August and he said, "Fans have been letting me know that they're going to come to see me perform." Patton will be competing under his real name and this is the first time he has skated since he left a Disney touring company and became a porn star. "I'm a bit nervous," he said. Not about the fans showing up, but about whether he can live up to their expectations.
Meanwhile, he's conspiring with director Jerry Douglas in the Big Apple, talking about a potential ice skating porn movie. It's only been done a couple of times: Tom Bradford's Ambassadors of the Ice (Sarava Productions) and Studio 2000's Blades, directed by Ross Cannon and starring Brad Benton. (Talk about a possible co-star — Benton can skate and bottom, and probably do both at the same time!) Patton laughs at my idea about skating nude, then pauses to think about it. Could he have sex while skating? It certainly would be a scene that could melt the ice.
As far as coordination is concerned, he did do a sex scene while driving a speedboat in an upcoming Buckshot movie (tentatively titled Houseboat) where he's having sex while steering the boat with his foot. "It's a scene you have to see to believe," said Patton. He's partnered with new Buckshot Man, Brian Hansen (who has worked for Lucas Kazan and Studio 2000 as David Scott), a "very cute new sexy muscle guy," who debuts for Buckshot in HARD Studies.
John Royce, a photographer who worked with a lot of porn guys during the years of the Probe Men-in-Video Awards (1996-2001), is still taking photos, but is now ready to release some 20-minute loops on DVD. As a hobby, he still runs some pay sites — Mightymen.com, JohnRoyce.com, MuscleElite.com, MightyJocks.com — and his Ammen.net portal still houses old gossip and pictures from past events. He is filming scenes with new models. One of them is "When a Black Man Calls" with two African-American studs making house calls, and "Cock or no Cock" with a straight guy taunted to play a game that may result in a pussy or a cock at the other end. Next, he's on the hunt for hunky Asian guys. "I plan on doing maybe two DVDs a year, not much," says Royce.
A funny story from David Edwards, the webmaster of MarineMeat.com — "two guys said they were at a hot party where girls gathered around the computer and logged on to the site, which gave them the idea to contact us and ask to be on the site too." Edwards says about 30 percent of his customers are women, a new and growing trend. This is where real-life U.S. Marines such as Cameron Sage and Bo Garrett sprang from.
I just confirmed with Channel 1 Releasing that the very famous classic titles that they acquired when they purchased All Worlds Video are going to be remastered and re-released on DVD with commentary and extras. Jerry Douglas, in particular, is very excited about the planned DVD releases — most of his movies, virtually all of them classics, were made for All Worlds and all, except for Kiss-Off, have been languishing in the vaults. I'm told that the first Douglas classic scheduled for DVD is the amazing Flesh & Blood. In fact, Douglas recorded the commentary for the DVD in his hotel room in Chicago the morning after the Grabby Awards. More of a Man is next on the re-release schedule.
