Gay.com Launches Pride Guide

LOS ANGELES—Gay.com has introduced a new section it calls “the ultimate Pride Guide, a complete resource for all things gay-pride-related.”

The Pride Guide, hosted in Gay.com’s “Happy Trail” travel section, features event listings, destination guides, mobile uploading capabilities and Pride-adjacent events.

“Gay pride is a major travel event for the gay community, but no website currently offers a comprehensive guide to what’s happening across the country,” said Gay.com Editor in Chief Rick Andreoli. “We took on the job and created a pride guide that’s both useful and entertaining. Beyond linking to city sites, providing event summaries and offering bar or restaurant suggestions, we’re also tossing in lists and tips that are fun and funny. Readers should get a laugh while learning how to effectively flirt, text friends and score a strong drink from the bartender. And trust me, those are skills any good gay needs.”

The Pride Guide’s “Event Listings” section provides necessary dates, links and festival highlights, allowing members to plan their activities. Additionally, Gay.com’s “Gay & Away City Guides” section makes recommendations for the hottest restaurants, bars, clubs and hotels in various Pride cities. Those looking to explore a city outside the Pride festivities benefit from the “Pride Adjacent” events section, suggesting weekend activities beyond the typical Pride parties.

The Pride Guide also includes an interactive element. Using mobile devices, Gay.com members can upload Pride celebration photos directly to a special photo gallery curated by the editorial staff. Simply email photos to [email protected].

Weekly “Hot Tips” and “Cool Rules” columns also are on the agenda. “Hot Tips” offers helpful hints to navigating the Pride experience, including how to stay in touch with friends during parades, Pride-relevant mobile applications and texting shortcuts. “Cool Rules” lists guidelines by which Pride attendees should abide, such as texting etiquette, the proper way to treat bartenders and dance floor rules.
