Gay-Porn Insider Lands Role in Reality Series

LOS ANGELES - Reality show production company Bunim/Murray Productions -producer of Oxygen's Bad Girls' Club and MTV's Real World - has tapped a gay-adult-industry insider to play a role in an episode of its newest project.

On its website, Bunim/Murray describes Old Skool with Terry and Gita as "The Golden Girls meets Borat." The reality series follows Terry Moore, 77, and Gita Hall, 72, as the women "explore all the weird and wonderful ‘subcultures' normally reserved for much younger people [and prove] it's never too late to get ‘skooled.' From hip hop to the gay community, the two ladies are committed to discovering what's hip and happening today. Their fish-out-of-water immersion ... often is revelatory, sometimes shocking and always hilarious."

Moore was an actress during the glory days of Hollywood's studio system. She has said she secretly was married to the late billionaire Howard Hughes. Hall was one of the world's first supermodels. The five episodes shot so far focus on Muslim life, hip-hop culture, gay pride, substance-abuse rehab, and club culture and porn.

A gay-adult-industry insider is involved in that last one.

Spanky, who refers to himself as "chief cook and bottle washer" for White Tiger Releasing, was tapped to play a version of himself: an Internet porn producer. Moore and Hall help him cast and shoot content.

"It was a hoot," Spanky said of the experience. "Probably the thing that stood out most was that these very elegant women were of my mother's generation. To be honest, it was somewhat appalling having them shoot stills while Dino Bravo was ‘licking the kitten,' so to speak.

"Reality shows are much like porn productions, with limited resources. Impromptu was what it was all about," he continued. "They really never told me what to say. The purpose of the show is to catch how the ladies react to current culture, and I would think our world of erotica is something they will never forget."

Old Skool
has been picked up by VH1, but air dates have not been announced.
