CHARLOTTE, N.C.—“The Massage Table,” a piece of erotic short fiction by the pseudonymous writer monkeyjunk, has been named 2009 Story of the Year at gay erotic fiction site StickyPen.com. The short story explores one man’s homosexual awakening as the result of a series of massage appointments.
The annual Story of the Year is chosen from among 12 finalists, one chosen each month from among the site’s weekly “best story” winners. Site administrator Clarke has the daunting task of selecting each story along the way.
“I ultimately choose the winner,” he explained. “But I make sure that choice is reflective of our community’s census. The comments and the ratings StickyPen employs are a large factor in my final decision.”
“The Massage Table” was a late entry for the 2009 contest, but Clarke said the story’s popularity among readers raised it above the competition.
“This story really resonated with our members,” Clarke said.
