Gay Erotic Novel to See Simultaneous Webisode, e-book Release

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Award-winning gay erotic novelist A.J. Llewellyn departs from his usual tropical settings with Laid (eXtasybooks, 2009), a gritty romance set on Los Angeles’ back streets. Scheduled to debut Sept. 15 as an e-book, Laid also will appear as John Bruno-directed webisodes on the Massive Studio website.

Llewellyn said to the best of his knowledge, the project is the first of its kind to be distributed simultaneously in two different forms.

“I am ecstatic to be working with John Bruno, who is, unlike my literary character, perfect in every way,” Llewellyn said. “Laid is the first of four collaborations that John and I have committed to work on so far. This is the first time I have heard of a book and video project tying together in the adult realm in this way.”

The novel introduces a new character to Llewellyn’s signature erotic series format: Jack Cannon, an elite member of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.

Cannon is “tough, smart and the kind of guy that relieves the pressures of his day by cruising the city’s gay bars off duty,” Llewellyn said.

However, Cannon discovers he has bitten off more than he can chew when one hot night in the City of Angels brings him a devil of a dilemma: His new lover, Lucio Natale, happens to be a brutal mob boss who is right at the top of the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

Hunter Marx, an actor who is brand new to the adult industry, will portray Cannon in the webisodes. Massive Studio owner Bruno said he is happy with both Marx’s performance as the L.A. cop who dances with danger at every turn and the prospects for the joint venture.

“A.J. and I were introduced by a mutual friend, and we hit it off immediately,” Bruno said. “We share a love of porn, and that led to A.J. writing this book, which is based on a character that I have had in my head for a long time.

“Not only has [the project] given us a chance to work together to bring the book series to video, but it also paves the way for us to work together on bigger projects. We have already planned a video feature that will originally release on DVD for our next co-venture.

“We are especially pleased to introduce Hunter to the gay audience with Laid,” Bruno added. “He not only plays the lead in the webisodes, but he’s also the cover model for A.J.’s book.”

Following the completion of the webisodes’ online run, Bruno and Llewellyn expect the entire series to be released on DVD by Pulse Distribution under the Massive label.
