VAN NUYS, Calif. - Mail-order company Phoenix Releasing has updated its online presence with a new look and an expanded selection of products and services.
Front and center in the new milieu is a special offering of 46 movies that recently were named GAYVN Award nominees.
"I don't think any other site has given this kind of personal attention to an awards show in the past," said Phoenix Releasing president Bob East. "It only makes sense to honor these titles and companies in this way. We sell their titles all year long, and as a producer of one of the nominated movies [Jim Steel's Beach House Diaries from Men of Odyssey], this is quite an honor and deserves special recognition."
In addition to DVDs for sale, the site also offers video on demand and links to gay gossip and information sites. East said the company plans to offer a selection of novelties soon.
"Previously we only concentrated on direct mail as a way to reach our customers," he said. "But that is just not practical today. As part of this launch, we are giving free shipping on first orders to new customers and are offering our current customers free shipping for a limited time no matter how often they contact us. It's our way of saying ‘thank you.'
"One of the things that sets us apart is what I refer to as a personal shoppers' service," East added. "If you are looking for a title, director or star, we will search for it. If it is still available, we'll find it and have it for you at a reasonable price.
"In a changing market there are a few things coming in the future, so check the site often just to see what we're up to and maybe place an order occasionally."
