The pre-nominations website for the 2008 GAYVN Awards Show will go live Thursday, November 1 and remain live until Friday, December 14. The 10th annual GAYVN Awards Show will be held February 16, 2008 at the GiftCenter in San Francisco.
To be considered for a 2008 Awards Show nomination, a production must have been released between December 15, 2006 and December 14, 2007. By that date, a title must be in the hands of a minimum of 1 wholesale distributor or 15 retail outlets.
GAYVN is reminding producers that December 14 is the deadline for them to provide GAYVN with their lists of pre-nominations - productions, scenes, performers, box covers and marketing campaigns they want considered for awards nominations - and accompanying screeners.
Producers are required to enter their pre-noms themselves at http://www.GAYVNawards.com/nominations after obtaining a password and user name to access the site from Harker Jones at GAYVN. GAYVN will no longer accept producer pre-nom lists in hard copy or via e-mail or fax. To receive passwords starting today, producers must contact Harker Jones at [email protected] or 818.718.5788.
Producers should be judicious in their pre-noms, submitting only those productions and scenes they strongly believe have a chance at being nominated, as opposed to submitting all titles released during the qualifying period. Production companies must supply GAYVN with all required information in their pre-noms, including the names of all performers in sex scenes and the names of all behind-the-camera talent in the technical categories such as editing, videography, music and others.
By December 14, producers must provide GAYVN with two DVD copies of each title or scene they would like to be considered for nominations (if they have not done so already when the film was released), as well as sample materials used in marketing campaigns if seeking consideration in those categories.
