LOS ANGELES—A former gay porn performer who worked mostly under the name Ryan Morrison was found dead yesterday in a wooded area in Camden County, Georgia, after he had gone missing January 17. A 34-year-old U.S. Postal Service employee has been arrested and charged with the 20-year-old's murder after the two met at the Metro gay bar in Jacksonville, Florida.
According to projectqatlanta.com, "Authorities allege that [Jeremy Christian Pittman] killed [Morrison, whose real name is Robert Glenn Hucks] after the pair left the gay club. Pittman lives in Jacksonville but works in St. Mary's, Georgia. The case started as a missing persons investigation, but 'thoughts of foul play' developed and homicide investigators were later brought in."
Adam Brown, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Chief of Investigations, said that the two men left the bar together. "After leaving Metro, Pittman and Hucks went to Pittman's home," he added. "But an argument ensued, according to Brown, and Hucks asked to be driven to his home. Brown did not say what the two men argued about."
At a press conference today, Brown stated, "Somewhere in between the suspect's and the vicitm's home, the suspect murdered the victim. He later dumped the victim's body in a wooded area in Camden County, Ga."
Morrison had left his part-time porn profession behind him and had posted to Twitter that he was looking forward to getting his GED and going to college. According to the article, he had "lived in metro Atlanta, attending South Paulding High School and growing up in Villa Rica. He was featured in a handful of gay porn videos for Boy Crush with the stage name Ryan Morrison (NSFW). Gay porn site Dewayne In San Diego reported Hucks also performed under the name of Ryan Ray Gibson."
That was the name he used on his Facebook page, where friends posted comments after he was first reported missing and again when the worst possible news was delivered.
"Your smile will forever shine on Ryan Ray Gibson. I'll always love you and cherish the fun times we had, especially our first Atlanta pride rest in peace Glenn, you've always been an angel," wrote Austin Mi'Kel Nations, who had traveled to the pride event with him.
"I'll never delete you from my friends list," wrote another friend.
This afternoon, Andy Kay, director of Boycrush Studios issued the following statement regarding the tragic news: "One of our models who was with us and a great friend of the studio for years was recently murdered in Jacksonville, Florida. It's an incredibly sad situation and very sad news to us at Boycrush Studios. As he has no family that we know of (or that cares to contribute) we've started a "We Care" (sorta like a Kickstarter for good causes) in order to raise a little money for his funeral. The goal isn't ridiculously high but we want to give him the rest this sweetheart deserves. I appreciate any and all donations and postings of the donation link. Thank you so much for your support. DONATE HERE."
