MIAMI—FlavaMen magazine’s annual Hot Body Contest and pool party typically takes place in Miami over Memorial Day weekend. However, because of scheduling conflicts with several of parent company Flava Works’ most popular models, the 2010 party has been moved to Washington, D.C.
“The Flava Works models DeAngelo Jackson, Flamez, Baby Star and Ace Rockwood, who were slated to be part of Miami Sizzle, will all be attending DC Black Pride instead and will be available for autograph signings,” a statement from the ethnic gay adult studio noted. “FlavaMen’s Hot Body Contest and pool party have also been made to fit the DC Black Pride lineup.”
Flava Works Operations Manager Warren Bullock said fans will find all the usual hijinks at the party, plus additional events associated with DC Black Pride.
Among the events in which FlavaMen and the models expect to participate are a welcome reception at the Washington Plaza Hotel from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and a 5,000-man “mega-party” at DC Star nightclub later that evening. The pool party and Hot Body Contest are scheduled to take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Washington Plaza Hotel, followed by ManHunt at the Westin City Center from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. On Sunday, the crew will be at the DC Pride Expo from 1 to 7 p.m. and The Main Event at Club from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
“We apologize to all the fans who booked their tickets to come to Miami for this and other FlavaMen events during Miami Sizzle, but due to scheduling conflicts, we had to change venues at the last minute,” he said. “We hope all our fans will be able to join us for a fun time in D.C.”
The winner of the FlavaMen Hot Body Contest will receive a $1,000 photo shoot and appear on the cover of the next issue of FlavaMen magazine.
DC Black Pride is celebrating its 20th year in 2010 and expects to attract more than 15,000 people to the U.S. capital during Memorial Day weekend. For more information about the event, visit DCBlackPride.org.
