Doug Jeffries/Channel 1 Releasing Creating New Gay Brand

In his first move since his departure from Studio 2000, gay adult performer/director Doug Jeffries has signed on with Channel 1 Releasing to create a new video line. Jeffries will direct titles under the new Electro Video brand and will also participate in casting, talent recruiting, and signing exclusives for Electro and Channel 1's Live and Raw website, www.LiveandRaw.com.

Having worked as a model, writer, and assistant for Channel 1's Chi Chi LaRue at various times over the past decade, Jeffries joins the Channel 1 team with a wealth of experience. "I feel incredibly lucky to start this new venture with Chi Chi and Channel 1," Jeffries said in a press release issued last week.

Jeffries later spoke with AVN.com, and added, "Channel 1 is a growing company and they're turning out great products. I have my own line now, and I'm excited to build this company with them and to be working with my friends. Just seeing a company like this grow and develop, and be a part of it, is a great opportunity and challenge for me. It's an incredible environment to work in. They allow me to be creative and to do what I do best."

Electro will start out with five titles this year and will double that in 2005. Up first and due in March will be the Jeffries-helmed Manhandled: A Latino Gang-Bang with Drew Peters, Alex Leon, and Rick Gonzalez. It will be followed by The Little Big League, a baseball-themed movie with Rascal exclusives Theo Blake and Robbie Angel.

In the press release, LaRue noted, "Doug has proven to me over the years that he is one of the most valuable and hardest working people in the industry. I have no doubt that he will give everything he's got to make this new company successful."
