DominicFord, IML Partner to Promote ‘A Leather Odyssey’

CHICAGO—With the theme “IML 2010: A Leather Odyssey,” this year’s International Mr. Leather gathering and competition promises to be a dynamic, immersive experience. By partnering with the revered leather organization, gay adult studio DominicFord plans to add a new dimension to the festivities—3D.

The contest, which takes place at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Chicago May 28-31, will commence with a short 3D movie intro DominicFord filmed especially for IML. Audience members will receive 3D glasses and commemorative buttons co-branded by IML and the studio.

The studio also created a collectible mini-poster for the event and plans to record interviews with select IML luminaries for future 3D viewing.

“We are excited to be doing something at this year’s IML that is visually extra-special and unique,” said IML’s RJ Chaffin. “With 3D being on everyone’s lips these days, it made perfect  sense for us to work  with DominicFord to create a 3D intro that will welcome the audience to the show in a more personal and  memorable way.”

The collaboration is DominicFord’s first live-audience venue, although the studio’s 3D videos and DVDs have been gaining popularity.

“We are thrilled to be working with IML 2010,” said studio founder Dominic Ford. “They have been doing this show for over 30 years, so I’m very pleased they have trusted us to deliver a one-of-a-kind opening movie for them that the audience won’t forget.”
