Leading gay adult entertainment company Studio 2000 told GAYVN this morning that David McKay has acquired the studio.
McKay is a former organizational and marketing consultant to Falcon Studios and from 2003-05 its VP of Marketing and Business Development. Prior to his stint at Falcon, McKay had been a marketing executive in the technology sector for 20 years.
Founded in 1993 by gay XXX-industry pioneers Scott Masters and John Travis, Studio 2000 has consistently produced movies receiving critical acclaim. Masters and Travis founded the studio with the goal of delivering the high quality, high value productions they had pioneered for other studios.
Masters first founded Nova Studios, where he produced and directed a series of best-selling films, and later worked for Catalina Video as the industry’s first full-time producer, focusing his talents behind the scenes on model and title development.
GAYVN Hall of Fame director John Travis has directed scores of movies, first at Brentwood Studios, and later for Matt Sterling, Falcon, and others.
Both Masters and Travis will stay with the company, continuing their integral roles as producer and director of Studio 2000’s new movies.
“The talents of Scott Masters and John Travis are legendary, and the brand they’ve built with Studio 2000 is world class,” said McKay. “I am excited to work with them to develop Studio 2000 into a more prominent player in the gay adult entertainment market.”
“John Travis and I are delighted to see the business we created many years ago go on to this new phase of its existence,” said Scott Masters. “We believe that David and his team will bring the sales and marketing focus and business acumen that Studio 2000 needs to grow and prosper.”
