Court Documents: Twin Burglars Keep Crime All in the Family

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities are saying gay porn performers Teyon and Keyon - aka real-life twins Keyontyli and Taleon Goffney - believe "the family that burglarizes together stays together."

The twins were arrested in February after being caught in the act of allegedly burglarizing a couple of Philadelphia businesses. They are suspected in a string of burglaries across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware that earned the perpetrators the nickname "The Rooftop Burglars" because of the way access to the crime scenes was gained.

According to a transcript of an interview police conducted with Keyontyli Goffney shortly after his arrest, the twins' mother, Towana Goffney, 44, was their accomplice. The transcript was introduced in court on Tuesday during Keyontyli Goffney's preliminary hearing.

Court documents indicate Keyontyli Goffney told police both he and his mother served as lookouts for Taleon Goffney, who Keyontyli Goffney said was the mastermind of the burglary operation.

"Was your mom aware of what he [Taleon Goffney] was doing?" New Jersey detective Edward Kunkel asked during the interview, according to the transcript.

"Yes, but we just watched," Keyontyli Goffney is quoted as responding.

As a result of the hearing, Keyontyli Goffney was bound over for trial on charges of burglary, conspiracy and criminal trespass. He is free on bond. His brother, who also was scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday, remains in the Criminal Justice Center without bail because he faces other criminal charges unrelated to the burglaries, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Police said Towanda Goffney is under investigation but hasn't been charged.

The Rooftop Burglary Task Force, a cooperative effort of 30 law-enforcement agencies in the tri-state area, continues to investigate the 25-year-old brothers' possible involvement in as many as 40 other burglaries over the past 18 months.
