Singer-turned-porn-star-turned-singer Colton Ford will appear in Philadelphia on Thursday, August 18, to promote the here! Networks broadcast and DVD release of the documentary about his career, Naked Fame, TLA Entertainment Group announced in a press release.
Ford will sign copies of the DVD at TLA Video’s Center City store, 1520 Locust Street, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. At midnight he will perform live at Woody’s, 202 S. 13th St., where he will sing one of his songs, sign autographs, and pose for free Polaroid photos with his fans.
Colton Ford began his singing career in the late '80s under the alias “Glenn Street.” He released a hit dance single, “Hardline,” but then his career hit hard times. He decided to fulfill a fantasy by entering the gay adult industry. After only 12 videos, he had become a major star, winning GAYVN’s “Performer of the Year” Award for 2002.
He decided to leave the XXX industry and use his new-found celebrity to reenter the music business. He released a dance single, “Everything,” on Nervous Records, and recently hit the charts with dance diva Pepper MaShay with “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” for Centaur Records.
In August 2002, filmmaker Christopher Long began filming a documentary that traced Ford’s shift in careers. Naked Fame has since screened at film festivals across the country, and enjoyed successful theatrical runs in several cities.
This autumn here! Networks is broadcasting the film. The Naked Fame DVD was released on August 2 by here! and TLA Releasing.
