Cobra Video Murder Suspects Denied Bail

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The two men accused of killing Cobra Video owner Bryan Kocis have been denied a bond hearing and are likely headed to Pennsylvania to face arson and murder charges, according to Virginia television station WTKR.

Joseph Kerekes and Harlow Cuadra have not been allowed out of jail since they were arrested in mid May. On Thursday, the two men appeared before a judge who denied their bond hearing. Kerekes and Cuadra received warrants for their arrest in Pennsylvania from Governor Tim Kaine. The extradition warrants force the men to be held without bond, according to Senior Assistant Commonwealth attorney Paul Powers.

James Brice, the lawyer hired by both men, said they'll fight the warrants. He said, "They've got certain rights under the constitution. If these rights are violated the state must release them."

A hearing date of June 27 in Circuit Court was set by the presiding judge, Judge Robert Simpson.

Cuadra and Kerekes are accused of murdering Kocis in January and attempting to cover it up by burning his house to the ground.
