CHICAGO - ChroniclesOfPorniaBlog.com, a gay-porn blog, has announced nominees for the first Chronicles of Pornia Blog Awards, which will honor performers and other gay industry insiders in 14 categories.
The inaugural awards also include the COP Hall of Fame, which honors performers and others who have made outstanding contributions to the gay adult industry and/or have broad fan appeal.
Award winners will be determined by COP readers, who may vote at the site between April 6 and 30. Donations to The Trevor Project will be made in the names of all winners.
"The Trevor Project operates the only nationwide, around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention helpline for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth," according to the mission statement at TheTrevorProject.org. "Every day, The Trevor Project saves lives through its free and confidential helpline, its website and its educational services."
COP founder and webmaster Marc Wynter said he devised the awards not only to honor overlooked areas of the gay adult industry, but also to show support for a worthy cause. He plans to make the awards an annual event to coincide with the two-year-old blog's birthday, April 30.
"I decided instead of doling out trophies that I would do something different, which could allow me to give back to the community and at the same time support a worthy LGBT service that has helped save so many of our youth's lives in times of crisis," Wynter said.
