NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. - Jet Set Men's current head, Chris Steele, retired to life behind the camera four years ago. But Singapore has enticed him back onstage for a live appearance at the opening of the Gorgeous Solarium (52-53 Duxton Road), making him the first gay adult video star to appear on the island.
Steele will appear at the grand opening of the tanning salon Saturday, September 29, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is free admission, but you must contact Jason Lee at the solarium for an invitation.
The following day, Steele will be serving customers at the solarium from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., then from 3 to 4, Steele will answer questions about what it's like to be a star, writer, director, and producer in the gay adult industry, and will take photos with fans. There will also be a drawing in which one fan will win a date with Steele at a local restaurant and a tanning package to Gorgeous Solarium.
Steele said of the appearance, "When they first contacted me I told them I no longer do live appearances but I could help get them any porn star they wanted. But as it turns out they only wanted me. I'm very honored to be making this appearance."
Steele has performed live at over 100 venues. This is his first appearance since 2003.
