WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.- Chi Chi LaRue's, the first adult boutique to be opened by the venerable gay director, will open at 10 a.m. Dec. 15. A grand-opening celebration and ribbon cutting helmed by West Hollywood, Calif., Mayor Jeffrey Prang will take place at the store Thursday, Dec. 11.
According to LaRue, the store is the only gay-owned and -operated adult boutique in the city.
Chi Chi LaRue's will offer DVDs, novelties, lubricants, condoms, apparel, cards, photo books, calendars, smoking accessories, performance enhancers and more in an upscale environment, LaRue said. The shop will feature the more than 2,000 titles and products in the Channel 1 Releasingcatalog (in which LaRue is a partner) and will carry the entire Rascal, All Worlds, Catalina and Dirk Yates Libraries under one roof.
The store also has developed relationships with vendors including TLA Video, MD Science Lab/Swiss Navy, WET, ONE Condoms and Topco Sales who will provide other essentials.
"I can't believe the day is almost here," LaRue said. "Everyone at Channel 1 has been working so hard to make this place a reality. We have so many amazing things for people to see at the store already, not to mention so many exciting ideas for the future. I just know this place is going to be a big hit."
Chi Chi LaRue's is located in the heart of West Hollywood at 8932 Santa Monica Boulevard, just east of Robertson Boulevard.
