When Bryan Ockert was recognized at an airport by a stranger, he was flattered - and a little surprised. "I later told my friend how strange it was. He said, ‘What? Did he recognize you from the back of the head? You have the most famous back of the head on the 'net!'" recalls the founder of ChaosMen.com. "Clearly, my friends don't feed the ego."
For cocksucking addicts, Ockert's appetite for dick and his top-notch tongue have made him a hero. The skill helped him win Best Amateur Video at this year's GAYVN Awards for Edge, Vol. 1. The video featured Ockert on his knees servicing a handful of hotties, with clever editing and camerawork creating a unique experience of heightened sexual fantasy. "I'm really big on multi-camera angles, on MTV-style fast cuts. I want to see the guy's face, the body shot and the close-up."
Ockert is essentially a one-man band, filming a new solo, oral and hardcore sex scene each week - and handling scheduling, tech support, website design, editing, photos and model hospitality. Eight years ago, he shared his passion for photography by launching ChaosInAustin.com, a site featuring stills of his Texas friends. A year later he started a photo journal/blog, a rarity at the time (he also sells a high-quality book of his work). "I got them to take their clothes off," Ockert says, "and then pretty much morphed that into a site that had photos. Things didn't really take off until I added video."
Ockert shot video for another adult company for a few years, alternating his time between California and Austin. When his contract ended, he started to film for his own site three years ago and changed the name to ChaosMen as he headed back to Texas - and welcomed models from across the country.
"I had a clear vision of what I wanted: hot guys that weren't so absolutely perfect that you didn't think they were attainable - not guys so hot that when you look at them, your self-esteem suffers. I thought there were plenty of hot guys out there that you could look at and get into a zone with. My taste in guys is basically all over the map - one week it might be a daddy, and the next week it might be a twink; pretty much chaos."
Ockert's talent caught the attention of 1 Distribution (where one of his models works), which convinced him to create DVDs. He's released five to date, with more entries in the oral Edge and Serviced lines - as well as more hardcore releases like the recent Shear Chaos - coming soon, featuring some exclusive DVD bonus scenes. "I prefer oral sex, and my videos tend to be oral heavy - partly because most of the guys are straight. That's one of the reasons I started the Edge videos: The guys were too nervous to really do anything, and if they were blindfolded and had porn playing in their ears, they could get off. But somehow I can get them to do other things beyond their limits," he says.
"They don't know how to suck dick, and I've had 25 years of cock-sucking experience. Eventually I'm going to have to get someone else to do it; I don't want to be rolling up on a wheelchair," laughs Ockert, who could easily be a performer (while he isn't in hardcore scenes, his own gorgeous boner is sometimes on camera). "I try and make sure the shoots are about them; I'm kind of a prop or conduit to make them come. Some other sites, there's an older guy in full view in front of the camera with a much younger guy, and it's a little creepy to me. It's a fine line."
>But with fans recognizing Ockert - even just his hot head and muscular arm - it's clear his talent is a draw, too. He notes that he gets a little wilder with one model in a scene debuting during an end-of-year blowout (a new scene daily starting Dec. 20). He also unveiled "The Ultimate Load" feature, selling digital masters of scenes for $2.99 a pop.
"I feel like I'm in my own little zone. I'm just doing the best that I can, and I take it so personally - so it's just so great when you realize people are noticing what you're doing. The cool thing is that it's something new. With the Edge videos, people always say it's something totally different - that was cool to be recognized for that, for thinking a little bit outside of the porn box."
