Buckshot Rides ‘Em Hard In Muscle Ranch II

The Buckshot Productions division of COLT Studio Group announced the release of Muscle Ranch II, directed by Kristofer Weston. Available as a pre-order from COLT, it will be in stores May 15.

"Muscle Ranch II chronicles the search for the perfect ranch hands," said Weston, "who can plow both the fields and each other. Antton Harri is the owner who's faced with the problem of maintaining a crew more hot and bothered by themselves than their jobs, but then so is he." The movie features a series of present-day scenes and flashbacks of the hunky cast wrangling cattle and each other.

The new movie drew much of its inspiration from the original, according to the director. "The original Muscle Ranch is a Buckshot classic," said Weston. " I loved this movie as I was coming out and a lot of COLT fans did too. So I wanted Muscle Ranch II to have a similar feel to the original, but keep the more youthful and fun vibe that Buckshot Productions is doing now."

As in the original, Weston used the voice-over of the ranch owner as he goes about his daily chores to link the various episodes together. "In both movies, the owner sends a letter to advertise for some help, "said Weston, "and in both movies a muscle-God answers this letter, arrives on a hot day, plops his bag down and takes a nap on the front porch of the owner's house. What Antton and the rest of the Buckshot Men do on the farm in between comes from my own imagination."

Weston credited Max Phillips' videography for capturing the story's rural work setting by using details such as water tanks, trucks, even a set of cowboy hats, without any "city details" intruding. He also praised Phillips' editing as "exceptional," citing the climatic montage between Buckshot Man Antton Harri and newcomer Remo Ferri who plays his new foreman.

"The cast maintained a raunchy and playful masculinity that is completely appropriate for the setting," said Weston. "We shot a mud wrestling scene with Cole Ryan and Buckshot Man Alex Chandler that's not to be believed. They get down in the slop and rip their clothes off. It's one of the dirtiest and most fun scenes I've ever shot."
