Boulevard Wraps First Indie Production

MISSION HILLS, Calif.—Boulevard Films, a division of distributor Boulevard Video, has complete principal photography on its first gay adult independent feature, Dr. Faustus. Adapted by Andy Goode from Christopher Marlowe’s classic Elizabethan morality play The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, the Boulevard title stars AJ Irons and Austin Reynolds under the direction of TJ Paris.

“I’m very pleased with the end result,” Boulevard Chief Executive Officer Andy Goode told AVN.

He also said Dr. Faustus is not the only modern retelling of classic literature Boulevard plans to undertake.

“We plan two more Elizabethan-era adult adaptations—one gay and one straight—and a TJ Paris improvisational film, as well,” Goode said.

In the current production, which presents the sordid tale of a man who sells his soul for unlimited knowledge, Irons portrays the title character opposite Reynolds’ Mephistopheles. Chad Connors and Julie Simone also are featured.

Goode said he already has begun scouting the leads for Boulevard’s next production.

“Adult actors who are interested in doing some real acting should drop us a line [via email],” he advised.

Goode said he expects Dr. Faustus to hit the streets Jan. 15. More information about the title will be available at BoulevardDistribution.com as it becomes available.
