Blatino Awards Announces Celebrity Hosts

ATLANTA—Raz-B from the R&B boy band B2K; Shanell (aka SnL) from rapper Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment; D. Woods, formerly of the group Danity Kane, and CJ Wright, straight male adult performer and owner of CJ Wright Productions will host the 2010 FlavaMen Blatino Awards. In addition, Dondria from So So Def Recordings is expected to perform singles from her recently released album.

The 2010 Blatino Awards, which honor ethnic clubs, adult performers, companies and individuals in a variety of categories, will be presented Sept. 3 from 9-11 p.m. at Club ATL in Atlanta. An after-party is scheduled from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. at the same venue.

Tickets to the award show are $10 online before Aug. 31 and $20 at the door. Red Carpet VIP Tickets are $25 online before Aug. 31 and $30 at the door. Red Carpet VIP admission includes seating on the main floor in front of the stage with the award nominees, photo opportunities with porn stars and hors d’oeuvres. Wright will perform a nude strip show for VIP guests during the after-party.

Nominees, their guests and members of the press may request complimentary tickets before Aug. 31 by emailing the organizers.

Dwight Allen O’Neal, creator of the video series Christopher Street TV, produced the event on behalf of FlavaMen magazine and its parent company, adult entertainment studio Flava Works. Christopher Street TV shares the challenges faced by four young men who grow up in a world of poverty, sickness, alientation, racism, sexism and prejudice.

“It is really exciting to have D. Woods, Raz B, Shanell and CJ Wright on board to celebrate the 2010 FlavaMen Blatino Awards,” O’Neal said. “CJ Wright was the first celebrity to jump on board to pay honor to the individuals who work in the same arena as him, and he really wants to take his hat off and salute our community’s talent.”

Award presenters include bloggers Adam B. Irby, Drama Dupree, Sir Daniel, Newnue and Romeo Redwine; singers Marck Angel and Anye Ellite; celebrity hair stylist Dariel Pulliam; safer-sex activist Kenneth Johnson and publisher Rameses Fredrick.
