CHICAGO - Bijou Video, the exclusive distributor for the Old Reliable line, has released two more titles from the series on DVD. Old Reliable 56: Basic Black Vol. 5 and Old Reliable 82: Boxing 1 now are available along with Old Reliable 32: Hairy Guys, Old Reliable 38: Arkansas Luggage and Old Reliable 43: 5 Days With Phil.
As the title implies, Basic Black Vol. 5 presents six black men without today's "home boyz" or "thugz" pretense, and it works well. Each man poses and works his meat; a couple of them sport some nice foreskin. The video finishes with a wrestling match between the black Adonis, T.J., and a skanky white boy. While the winner of the match is never in doubt, T.J.'s massive orgasm is worth the wait.
Boxing 1 is the first in the series to feature street characters sparring with gloves. Old Reliable already had presented wrestling scenes in previous videos, so it was a natural choice to progress to boxing. Most of the guys had to learn to defend themselves on the streets, and watching them throw punches at each other can be very exciting. All of the matches end with the competitors working up a load for the camera.
Before the current crop of "amateur" or "straight guys" videos, David Hurles sought out rough street types in and around the Los Angeles area and took them to his home to videotape them posing, stripping and jerking off. The resulting films consist of off-the-cuff interviews with every type of young man imaginable: Southern boys, blacks, Latinos, scruffy, skinny, tattooed, cigar-chomping, long-haired - you name it. Most are straight; many are fag-haters. All are encouraged by the off-screen cameraman to engage in exhibitionism. They take it out, show it off and usually masturbate. They talk about themselves, enabling the viewer to get to know them in a way not possible in the usual hardcore film.
The Old Reliable line comprised the original reality porn.
Bijou Video currently offers the entire series of Old Reliable videos on VHS tape. Additional titles are scheduled to be released on DVD in 2008.
