Bijou Theater to Shine Spotlight on Will Clark

CHICAGO - Gay porn idol turned AIDS activist Will Clark will be the focus of the Bijou Theater's November Spotlight Series. Films to be screened are The Porno Tonight Show (Brush Creek Media, 2003), Big Bear Trucking Company (Brush Creek, 1999) and Red Star (Raging Stallion Studios, 2003).

A native of Wisconsin, Clark headed to New York in search of a theatrical career. As many struggling actors before him have done, Clark turned to other work to support himself and began dancing at various nightclubs and working as an escort. In 1995, after auditioning for Steven Scarborough at Hot House Entertainment, Clark was cast in his first gay adult film, Dr. Goodglove.

Clark went on to appear in nearly 50 films in a variety of genres, but his best work and biggest hits were those featuring leather and BDSM themes.

After establishing himself in the gay adult arena, Clark began AIDS activism and fund-raising efforts with a series of Bad Boys Pool Parties and other events. He continues these efforts today, hosting Porno Bingo parties in New York and appearing at other community events.

Bijou's Spotlight Series occurs monthly at the theater, located at 1349 Wells Street. Each event salutes a model, director or studio with a presentation about the honoree's role in the gay adult industry followed by a special film screening. Clark's films will be screened Nov. 10-12.

Tickets, good for admission on all three nights of the series, may be purchased from the box office for $20 in advance or during the run.
