Bijou Releases Pioneering Black Gay Features On DVD

CHICAGO - Bijou has released on DVD two classic gay film featuring African-American performers: "Blacklode" and "Mr. Footlong's Encounter." Both films have been lovingly restored.

Billed as the first-ever black gay erotic feature, "Mr. Footlong's Encounter"  ($34.95) not only portrays interracial gay sex in a thoughtful, provocative way, but also breathes real life into the erotically charged, if somewhat stereotypical, characters. The actors express genuine interest in one another, and the sex is passionate and vigorous.

Duncan, the titular "Mr. Footlong," is a handsome, thoughtful, sexually liberated black man with a large dick, a gentle nature, and significant sexual talent. He lives with his lover, a butch, bearded Caucasian man. When the lover brings a trick to the luxurious home they share in the Hollywood hills, the trick is overcome by desire for Duncan, who steals him away. The simple, timeless story features extended ass-fucking sequences that incorporate a variety of performers over the course of 70 minutes.

"Blacklode" ($29.95) is part science fiction, part porn. When a scientist studying the human orgasm realizes he needs copious amounts of sperm, he turns to seven virile black models who beat off for him in a 75-minute masturbation marathon. Each one, led to the lab by a "cum for money" advertisement, exhibits his own very personal style while making his donation. The 1985 Marksman release marked the directorial debut of popular filmmaker Jack Majors and the performance debut of Romero Davis in a script by C. Calvin Anderson.

Both films on DVD are available at the Bijou World website.
