BelAmi Wraps Enormous South African Shoot

NEW YORK—BelAmi’s latest gay adult high-budget production may be the biggest in gay-porn history, at least in terms of people involved. The Europen studio gathered 27 models and 15 crew members in Cape Town, South Africa, for a three-week shoot that reportedly cost more than $400,000.

“We just wrapped production on what is likely the biggest and most expensive production in gay porn history, or certainly in the past couple of decades,” said BelAmi founder George Duroy. “BelAmi had a record year of growth last year, so I wanted to put even more money into production this year and give our loyal customers some extra-special groundbreaking content. That is exactly what we achieved. Let me just say it will be a hot summer at BelAmiOnline.com.

“This shoot is a culmination of the success we had last year, and we are expecting to experience greater success this year, which is why we are leading the year off with a shoot of this magnitude.”

According to Duroy, BelAmiOnline saw a 60-percent increase in membership between 2008 and 2009, which he attributed to a 100-percent increase in website traffic. He said server statistics indicate more than one million unique users visit the site monthly.

The cast and crew spent three weeks in South Africa filming an estimated 100 pieces of original programming, including documentary footage, still photo sets and video interviews with models. In addition, BelAmi and Aussi Bum completed a glamour series of the boys modeling the underwear manufacturer’s clothing.

Among the BelAmi models who took part in the adventure were Dolph Lambert, Luke Hamill, Kris Evans, Brandon Manilow, twins Milo and Elijah Peters, Jean-Daniel Chagall and Todd Rossett.

BelAmi also launched the BelAmi Photo School workshop while in South Africa. Fans received lessons from photographers Howard Roffman and Benno Thoma. The workshop drew participants from the U.S., England, Italy, Norway and New Zealand, among other countries. Based on the success of the initial outing, more workshops will be scheduled in the future, Duroy said.

BelAmi plans to begin rolling out content from the South African shoot in May at BelAmiOnline.com.
